Abstract

Objective: To describe the anthropometric characteristics of South American soccer goalkeepers.

Methodology: Databases such as Scopus and Scielo were reviewed to identify studies conducted in South America. Seven studies were identified. These were published from 2012 to 2024. Studies were found in Peru, Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay, Chile, Ecuador, and Colombia.

Conclusion: Anthropometric analysis of archers in South America shows ranges in age (23-27 years), weight (68.6-90.9 kg) and height (1.80-1.88 m) with notable differences in body fat (11.37%-35.1%), indicating that the profile is not uniform and further studies are needed to better characterize archers.
