Abstract

October 8 marks Physical Education Day, celebrated worldwide. Physical education is understood as the use of sports disciplines as a means to promote active and healthy lifestyles.

The National University of the Peruvian Amazon (UNAP), always committed to addressing needs in a comprehensive manner, through the Faculty of Education and Humanities and the Professional School of Physical Education, is pleased to create an academic research space focused on topics related to physical activity and sports.

Therefore, Boris Fernando Salinas Berrocal, M.A., and Dr. Freddy Junior Suero Pinedo, together with all faculty members of the Professional School of Physical Education, are responsible for the planning, organization, execution, and evaluation of the 4th International Congress on Physical Activity and Sports Sciences, to be held in the city of Iquitos, Maynas Province, Loreto Region, from October 8 to 10, 2026. The overall objective is to provide an international academic forum that promotes debate, innovation, and scientific dissemination in the fields of physical activity, health, and sport, thereby strengthening the training of professionals and undergraduate and graduate students in education-related fields, as well as in other disciplines such as psychology, anthropology, and the social sciences.
