Abstract

Objective: The aim of the present study was to analyze the distribution of accelerations and decelerations >2m.s² over a seven day microcycle, and to compare the demands of the training sessions in relation to the official match in male U-20 soccer players of a team in the Brazilian Championship.

Methodology: 25 athletes participated in the study, monitored using Catapult Vector S7 GPS devices (6.5 GHz), analyzing only accelerations >2m.s² and decelerations <?2m.s². The sessions were organized according to the morphology of the microcycle (MD+2, MD-4, MD-3, MD-2, MD-1 and MD). Comparisons between the days were performed using One Way ANOVA with Tukey's post hoc test, in addition to the analysis of the magnitude of the load in relation to the game, with a significance level <0.05.

Results: The results showed significant differences between the days of the microcycle for the number of accelerations and decelerations (p < 0.001). The MD-4 presented the highest volumes of these mechanical actions, with high magnitudes and values close to those observed on the day of the game, characterizing it as the day with the highest neuromuscular demand of the microcycle. MD-3 also showed high demands, especially for decelerations, while the MD-2 and MD-1 days showed progressive reduction of loads.

Conclusion: It can be concluded that the weekly periodization of accelerations and decelerations follows a structured pattern, in which the days furthest from the competition concentrate the greatest stimuli, providing relevant information for training planning and monitoring.
