Abstract

Objective: To describe the limitations and possibilities in the organization and structuring process of wheelchair basketball training, taking into account the relationship between functional classification and the deficiency itself.

Methodology: A bibliographic review documentary study was carried out. Two books related to the subject and 13 original scientific articles were used to write the document.

Conclusion: The literature indicates that the higher the rating, the greater the volume of the game, the maximum anaerobic power and the aerobic capacity. However, more long-term studies are needed to investigate the specific responses of each functional class to training loads and their relationship to motor performance.
