Abstract

Objective: To analyze and compare the main studies carried out in South America on the anthropometric profile of female volleyball players, highlighting the differences between countries and their influence on sports performance.

Methodology: A documentary study was carried out to gather information on the anthropometric profile of Latin American women volleyball players. Information was searched in the Google Scholar database. Four studies were identified that report data on the anthropometric profile of women volleyball players (Peru, Brazil, Cuba and Argentina). Tables and graphs were elaborated to reflect the anthropometric profile and % body fat.

Conclusion: Anthropometric profile and fat percentage are fundamental to understand the physical capacities of women volleyball players. The height data of professional volleyball players in Latin America show that Brazil and Cuba have the tallest players, with averages of 181.61 cm and 181 cm, respectively. In addition, Brazil stands out for having a lower percentage of fat, which may contribute to better agility and endurance in the game.
