Abstract

Objective: To expose the main violations of ethics in sport, in accordance with current concepts, violence, discrimination against women and the fight against doping based on the recommendations of the International Convention against Doping in Sport issued during the UNESCO world assembly in 2019.

Methods: A bibliographic review (narrative) was carried out, in which, issues related to ethics in society and in sports practice, doping and its consequences, violence and gender discrimination were analyzed. The following databases were used to search for the information: Pubmed, Scopus, EBESCO and Scielo between the years 2010-2020.

Conclusions: There are frequent cases of violations of ethics in the practice of sport such as violence, doping, gender discrimination and others that are contrary to the principles of Olympism. Sports and government authorities should increase educational campaigns and actions to eliminate negative ethical factors and promote a positive change towards fair play.
